Aggravated Battery At Elmhurst Nursing Home: Cops
The suspect was gone by the time an officer wanted to speak with her again, report says.
ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst police say they plan to seek a warrant for aggravated battery of a senior citizen at The Grove of Elmhurst nursing home, 127 Diversey Ave.
Shortly after noon Saturday, Elmhurst police responded to a battery report at the nursing home. The suspect told an officer that she put up her hands when an elderly woman was rude to her, but said she did not strike the woman, according to a police report. The elderly woman said she was afraid the suspect was going to hit her, police said.
The officer tried to speak with the suspect again, but she had left the area, police said. It was unclear from the report whether the suspect was an employee, a visitor or another resident. The report also did not say how the suspect is said to have battered the woman.
