He said he wanted a shower, saying, "I'm a good boy," according to a police report.

ELMHURST, IL – A man who often had coffee at an Elmhurst children's swim school entered the locker room last month, causing an employee to become alarmed, police said.

The incident occurred in the early afternoon Feb. 8 at Goldfish Swim School, 614 N. Michigan St.

It resulted in a charge against a 37-year-old Las Vegas man who described himself as homeless.

Patch obtained the police report through a public records request.

The employee told officers that she followed protocol by calling her managers before contacting the police. The officers asked the business to call them first.

The incident had happened half an hour before officers arrived.

Regularly, the man would come into the swim school to get coffee from the snack stand at the front desk, police said. He then would stand at the front door before leaving.

On Feb. 8, he entered a second time on the same day, walked past the front desk and toward the children's locker room, police said.

The employee said she saw the man standing at the door of a changing room, but was unsure whether he had opened the door.

The employee then notified her manager.

The man was escorted out of the school, and he was informed that the school was calling the police.

"I'm a good boy," the man was quoted as saying.

Officers asked other nearby businesses whether they had seen the man. They had not.

A couple of days later, an officer was following up on the case when he saw the man who fit the description enter Brewpoint Coffee, which is in the same complex.

The officer called for more officers before asking the man to step outside, which the man did.

The man said he knew about the incident in question, saying he wanted to take a shower.

Asked what he was doing in Illinois, the man said he had no money, was looking for work and was staying outside a laundromat on North York Street, police said.

Police told the man he was no longer allowed at Goldfish Swim School. He was charged with disorderly conduct and given a no-trespass notice for Goldfish.

He was also given a no-trespass notice for Evolution Dance Experience, which is in the same complex.
