ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving an 81-year-old man drinking on school grounds, a dog bite and theft. Here is information from the latest police reports:
Open alcohol
An 81-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 300 block of North Shady Lane was cited about 10 a.m. Wednesday on a charge of having open alcohol in public. Police said the man was drinking alcohol on the grounds of Emerson Elementary School, 400 N. West Ave. School was in session. The man was issued a no-trespass notice. He was released.
A 43-year-old Elmhurst woman who lives in the 300 block of North Ferndale Avenue was cited about 11 a.m. Monday on charges of having a dog at large and having no city tag for the dog. Police said another woman was walking her dog when two dogs ran from the 43-year-old's house and bit the victim on her left shin.
Theft
Someone stole a catalytic converter from a white Isuzu NPR truck between last weekend at MedSpeed, 140 Industrial Drive.
The office manager of Goldmax Carrier, 179 W. Spangler Ave., told police that the business had been unable to find an empty white utility trailer that was parked in the lot. The case was considered theft.
