ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police arrested people on charges of road rage, disorderly conduct, domestic battery, retail theft, unlawful possession of weapons and DUI. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Road rage
A 47-year-old Roselle woman and a 32-year-old Munster, Indiana, woman were arrested about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 600 block of North York Street on charges of battery and disorderly conduct. During a road rage incident, the women battered each other, police said. They were released.
A 52-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 800 block of South Poplar Avenue was charged about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday at his house with disorderly conduct. Police said the man approached a woman's car and hit the passenger mirror. He was released.
Domestic battery
A 45-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 500 block of North Willow Road was arrested about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday on two counts of domestic battery. Police said the man grabbed the victim's arms, causing injury. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Retail theft
A 38-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman, both of Waukegan, were arrested about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Goodwill Store, 675 W. North Ave., on a retail theft charge. They were taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Weapons charge
A 22-year-old Maywood man was arrested about 9 p.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of East Schiller Street on a charge of unlawful possession of weapons (firearm concealed). Police said they were called about a suspicious person smoking marijuana in public. He was found with a loaded handgun without a concealed carry license. He was release
DUI
A 41-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 100 block of North Larch Avenue was arrested about 7 p.m. on his street on charges of DUI and driving an uninsured car. Police said the man left town after a crash, but an officer stopped him when he returned. He was taken to the police station and then released.
A 49-year-old Westmont man was arrested about 7 p.m. Monday in the 600 block of West North Avenue on charges of DUI, driving an uninsured car and possession of open alcohol by a driver. He was taken to the police station and then released.
