ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving a scammed business, assault, stolen cars, theft, a disturbance and DUI. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Business scammed
Phase Three Brewing, 494 S. Spring Road, told police Monday that it was the victim of a phone scam. An investigation is pending.
A 29-year-old Hillside man was arrested about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday on charges of assault, criminal property damage, parking in the roadway and following too closely. Police said the man was stopped in traffic, got out of his car and broke someone else's car window at Church and Lake streets. He was released.
Stolen car, weapons charge
A 22-year-old Broadview woman was arrested about 9 p.m. Monday in the 400 block of West St. Charles Road on charges of criminal trespass to a vehicle and unlawful possession of a weapon. Police said the woman was driving a car stolen in Aurora. She was released.
Theft
A 37-year-old Carol Stream man was arrested about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday at Clarion Inn, 933 S. Riverside Drive, on charges of theft and disorderly conduct. Police said the man stole blank room key cards. He was released.
Disturbance
Police were called to a disturbance about 2 a.m. Monday at Clarion Inn, 933 S. Riverside Drive. Police arrested a 43-year-old homeless man who was wanted on warrants in Aurora and North Aurora. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Stolen car
A man told police that he parked his gray Honda Accord on Monday in the 400 block of Spring Road. Upon returning, the car was stolen.
DUI
A 45-year-old Woodridge man was arrested about 4:30 p.m. Monday in the 500 block of West North Avenue on charges of DUI and improper turn. Police said his car was broken down. He was taken to the police station and then released.
