ELMHURST, IL – York High School has appointed Morgan Jahnke as the new head coach of the varsity girls basketball program.
She replaces Brandon Collings.
Jahnke joins the Dukes after helping build a successful program at Willows Academy in Des Plaines, where she served as head coach last season, following several years as an assistant coach, according to a York news release.
During her six seasons at Willows Academy, Jahnke was part of a program that captured three consecutive Regional Championships in 2023, 2024 and 2025, the news release said.
In 2024, the team set a school record for wins in a season. In 2025, the Eagles garnered a sectional title and an Elite Eight appearance in the IHSA playoffs.
Last season, Jahnke guided the team to the first ISL Conference Championship in school history and was named the conference coach of the year.
"My goal is to build on the strong traditions here while fostering a competitive, disciplined, and supportive environment for our athletes to thrive both on and off the court," she said in York's news release.
A former collegiate basketball player at Concordia University Chicago, Jahnke has experience both as an educator and a coach. She has spent the past 10 years working in physical education.
