IC Catholic Prep Welcomes New Athletic Director

IC Catholic Prep is excited to announce our new Athletic Director, Demetrius Carr '13!

"I’m thrilled to step into the role of Athletic Director at IC Catholic Prep. My journey began in 2011 as a transfer student, excited to be part of the IC family. I became a two-sport athlete and graduated in 2013. After graduation, I played four years of collegiate football at the Division II level at Minnesota State University, Moorhead.

I returned to ICCP in 2019 as an assistant varsity boys basketball coach and stayed on that staff until 2022. I also served as head sophomore coach for three seasons, finishing with an overall winning record. For the past four years, I’ve been a PE teacher, and for the last year and a half, I served as Assistant AD.

Being able to come back as an alumnus and coach has been an incredible opportunity for my family and me. ICCP surrounded me with a sense of community and love that shaped who I am, and now, being part of that again, I get to give back to our students in the same way. I truly believe that this community is what makes ICCP so special, and it’s helped me become a better person.

A big part of who I am is rooted in my faith. Trusting in God’s plan has been a guiding force in my life, and I’m passionate about sharing that with our students. I believe in not just developing student-athletes on the field, court, diamond, wrestling mat, but also walking with them in their personal and faith journeys.

As I step into this role, my three major goals are:

1. Develop the whole student-athlete.
2. Strengthen and align our athletic department culture.
3. Invest in coaching and program development.

I’m incredibly excited for this opportunity because ICCP has poured so much into me over the years. I’m passionate about giving back and helping our students, coaches, and athletic programs continue to grow, succeed, and thrive."
