ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police arrested people on charges of battery, domestic battery, a felon's illegal weapon possession and property damage. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst charge log:
A 24-year-old Hillside man was cited on a battery charge. Police said the man struck a woman as she was buying items from the Pokémon vending machine about 2:30 p.m. Friday at Jewel, 153 E. Schiller St. He was found the next day and then released.
Domestic battery
A 32-year-old Elmhurst woman who lives in the 400 block of St. Charles Road was arrested about 6:30 p.m. Thursday at her home on a domestic battery charge. Police said she pushed someone else. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
A 40-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 300 block of North Berteau Avenue was arrested about 12:30 a.m. Friday at his home on a domestic battery charge. Police said he pushed someone else. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
A 26-year-old Elmhurst woman who lives in the 700 block of South Mitchell Avenue was arrested about 1:30 a.m. Saturday at her house on a domestic battery charge. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Brass knuckles
Mark H. Berrun Peralta, 36, of Elgin, was arrested about 3 a.m. Saturday at Route 83 and Interstate 290 on charges of unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, DUI, failure to signal, parking on a roadway, improper lane usage and possession of open alcohol by a driver. Police said the man had brass knuckles. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Property damage
A 32-year-old Elmhurst woman who lives in the 500 block of West St. Charles Road was arrested about 5 p.m. Friday on two counts of criminal property damage and counts of marijuana possession and reckless driving. Police said a crash occurred near Kohl's, 303 S. Route 83.
