ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst last week welcomed five emerging leaders from Georgia, a country that is south of Russia.
The meeting was part of the U.S. Congress-supported exchange initiative focused on government at the local and state levels.
Mayor Scott Levin, former Alderman Bob Dunn and Assistant City Manager Kent Johnson hosted Georgia's delegation at Elmhurst City Hall.
"These conversations strengthen international understanding and highlight the value of transparent, responsive leadership in our communities," Mayor Scott Levin said in a city news release.
The city said the discussion highlighted how local governments play a vital role in delivering essential services, maintaining transparency, engaging residents, and responding to community needs.
