ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police arrested people on charges of burglary, trespassing, battery, retail theft and DUI. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst arrest log:
York High burglary
Henry Ponder, 50, of Broadview, was arrested Friday on charges of burglary and criminal trespass to property. Police said Ponder entered York High School, 355 W. St. Charles Road, overnight Wednesday and committed theft. Ponder was taken to the DuPage County Jail. Patch has filed a public records request for the police report.
A 33-year-old Aurora woman was arrested about 5 p.m. Wednesday on charges of retail theft and battery. Police said the woman scratched an employee who was trying to stop her from committing theft at Jewel, 944 S. York St. She was released.
DUI
Julian Marquez, 46, of Bensenville, was arrested about 11:30 p.m. Thursday at York Street and Industrial Avenue on charges of aggravated DUI, possession of a controlled substance, driving with a revoked license, driving an uninsured car and making an improper turn. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
A 38-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 100 block of East Diversey Avenue was arrested about 4 a.m. Saturday at Diversey and York Street on charges of DUI, driving an uninsured car and improper lane usage. Police said he refused to provide a breath sample. He was taken to the police station and then released.
