ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst is still high on the list of DUI arrests among Illinois towns, according to an annual study.
In 2025, Elmhurst police made 181 DUI arrests, putting it 17th among towns in Illinois, according to the Alliance Against Intoxicated Motorists. The rankings exclude Chicago, which reported nearly 3,000 such arrests.
Elmhurst's ranking of 16th is particularly significant, given that it is the 33rd most populous town in Illinois. In 2024, Elmhurst came in seventh, with 225 DUI arrests.
According to the analysis, the 68-officer Elmhurst department made 2.7 DUI arrests per officer in 2025, down from 3.2 the previous year.
The top three Elmhurst officers for DUI arrests in 2025 were Ilya Krutoyarskiy (24), Richard Nieves (11) and Artur Kamieniarz (10), according to the alliance. Krutoyarskiy also topped the list last year, with 30 arrests.
