ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving DUI, public drinking, a prohibited bicycle and a stolen bike. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Stuck on tracks
A 27-year-old Berkeley woman was arrested about 4:30 a.m. Sunday near Poplar Avenue and First Street on charges of DUI, trespass on railroad property, driving an uninsured car, having open alcohol and illegally stopping where prohibited. Police said her car was stuck on railroad tracks. She was taken to the police station and then released.
A 49-year-old man was cited about 8 a.m. Friday at Jewel, 153 Schiller St., on charges of possession of open alcohol in public and marijuana possession. He was also arrested on three DuPage County warrants. In late May, he was arrested in connection with the burglary of a La Grange restaurant.
DUI
A 40-year-old Franklin Park man was arrested about 2:30 a.m. Saturday at Route 83 and Lake Street on charges of DUI, improper lane usage and disobeying a traffic signal. He was taken to the police station and then released.
An 18-year-old Chicago woman was arrested about 3 a.m. Sunday on charges of DUI, driving an uninsured car and disobeying a stop sign. Police said the incident occurred at Clarion Inn, 933 S. Riverside Drive. She was taken to the police station and then released.
Prohibited bicycle
A 21-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 400 block of North Addison Avenue was cited about 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Second Street and Addison Avenue on a charge of riding a prohibited bicycle. Police said he was seen riding the bike downtown.
Stolen bike
A dirt bike under an outside stairwell was stolen overnight Thursday in the 400 block of South Argyle Avenue.
