Elmhurst-River Forest Team Going To Junior League Baseball World Series

The team will represent Illinois in Taylor, Michigan, after an undefeated run through district, state and region.

ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst and River Forest's District 10 Junior League team is headed to the 2026 Junior League Baseball World Series after an undefeated postseason run through district, state and Central Region competition, according to a team news release.

The team will represent Illinois in Taylor, Michigan, next week as one of six teams from the United States to qualify for the tournament.

District 10 secured its World Series berth in Midland, Michigan, where it defeated Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin, 10-0 to win the Central Region championship.

According to the news release, strong defense, consistent pitching and timely offense helped power the team through postseason play against top Junior League teams from around the Midwest.

The World Series appearance follows a clean sweep of every round District 10 entered. The team remained unbeaten through district, state and regional competition, a run that put Elmhurst and River Forest on the international stage of Junior League Baseball, the news release said.

The tournament in Taylor will include six U.S. teams and six international teams.

The roster includes AJ Flemming, Ayden San Roman, Carter Spiering, Daniel Goggin, Dylan Ranieri, Jimmy Madden, Jon Ellis, Mario Iveljic, Rocco Popo, Roshan Vitha, Tiago Rangel, Tyler Welch, Will Bartolucci and Xander Escarpita. Coaches are Rob Flemming, Lee Fitzgerald and William Bartolucci.

The news release said reaching the Junior League Baseball World Series reflects the dedication of the players, coaches, families and volunteers who supported the team throughout the season.
