These Elmhurst Streets To Be Repaved Next Year

The city is on a 20-year replacement cycle for its street network, an official said.

ELMHURST, IL – Over the next five years, Elmhurst plans to repave 7.5 miles of streets annually, a top official said Monday.

Elmhurst's street network is about 150 miles. With 7.5 miles a year, the city will be on a 20-year replacement cycle, said Kent Johnson, the city's interim manager.

At Monday's City Council meeting, he presented plans for the next five years. The street program's annual cost will range from $7.1 million to $8.6 million, he said.
