Sexual Battery On Elmhurst's Illinois Prairie Path, Suspect Seen On Camera: Police

A woman was running when she was attacked, authorities said. An alert was sent to neighborhoods along the path.

ELMHURST, IL – A sexual battery was reported Thursday on Elmhurst's portion of the Illinois Prairie Path, local police said.

The incident occurred between 8:45 p.m. and 9 p.m. Thursday on the path between York Street and the Pioneer Park area, according to a police news release.

The woman was battered while running on the path, police said.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic man in his 30s wearing a red shirt, light-colored cargo shorts, and a black cap. A police camera showed him riding an electric scooter with its headlight on, traveling west on Vallette Street from York Street, according to the news release.

An alert was issued to the neighborhoods surrounding the Illinois Prairie Path in Elmhurst.
