OAK BROOK, IL – A Chicago woman was charged for her role in a fatal shooting last Wednesday at Oakbrook Center mall, authorities said Monday.
The woman was identified as Chance Jamerson, 29, who faces three felony counts of attempted armed robbery, DuPage County prosecutors said.
The state's attorney's office said more information would be released after Jamerson's first appearance in court later this week.
The office told Patch that Jamerson's mugshot was unavailable, but did not explain why. She is not listed as being in the county jail.
Three people were taken into custody after the shooting, but were released a day later, Oak Brook police said Friday.
Killed in the shooting was a 28-year-old Dolton man, Justin Hill, outside the L.L. Bean store shortly after noon.
A woman wounded in the shooting was listed as hospitalized late last week.
According to investigators, two cars carrying five people met in the parking lot before a fight led to gunfire.
One car stayed at the mall, while the other left and was found in neighboring Oakbrook Terrace, officials said. Three people in that car — two men and one woman — were taken into custody.
Police described the shooting as an isolated incident and said there was no immediate threat. The mall remained open.
