ELMHURST, IL – An Elmhurst native who became a NASCAR legend has been diagnosed posthumously with a disease that results from repeated head injuries, USA Today reported Tuesday.
In 2024, NASCAR hall-of-famer Fred Lorenzen died at 89. He graduated from York High School.
The disease was chronic traumatic encephalopathy, or CTE, which affects football players in particular.
