Another Search For Missing Elmhurst Man
Elmhurst police have yet to issue an announcement for the airline executive.

ELMHURST, IL — Last week, authorities conducted their first searches in a while for missing United Airlines executive Jake Cefolia, an Elmhurst resident. The efforts took place at Waterfall Glen Forest Preserve in Lemont, where Cefolia's car was found around the time he disappeared.
Last Wednesday, DuPage County Forest Preserve officers conducted a search. Two days later, Chicago police searched by helicopter, an effort arranged by Elmhurst police, according to forest preserve police.
"We have no new leads and no further searches planned at this time," DuPage County Forest Preserve Chief David Pederson said in an email to Patch.

Cefolia, 49, was last seen in person Aug. 6. He was seen on gas station footage taken the next day and reported missing Aug. 8.
According to Chicago's NBC5, a small team of forest preserve officers searched off the trails, looking for any sign of Cefolia last week.

"Now that the leaf foliage is down, it gives us a different perspective. So we are taking another look,” Pederson told NBC5. "We’re doing so because there hasn’t been any other lead, or any other information regarding Jacob Cefolia."
Elmhurst police have told Patch that Cefolia was under criminal investigation when he went missing, but would not indicate the crime. The department has not issued a missing person announcement or photo related to Cefolia.
Asked about that, Pederson said the only announcement he was aware of was Elmhurst Police Chief Michael Ruth's interview with a reporter from former TV personality Nancy Grace's crime-focused website.
Patch left a message with Elmhurst police Tuesday about the status of the Cefolia case.
When he disappeared, Cefolia was senior vice president of worldwide sales at United Airlines, where he led a workforce of 725. Cefolia was said to like running at Waterfall Glen.
