Band To Perform In Elmhurst's Public Places
Local bagpiper is part of band, which will entertain residents Friday night.
ELMHURST, IL — With the state entering a new phase in its pandemic response, things are easing up. Evidence of that Friday will be the presence of the Shannon Rover Band serenading through the City Centre and Spring Road business districts to salute the opening of businesses and welcome patrons to the area.
The band includes Elmhurst resident Brian Costello, who has spent his evenings during the pandemic playing bagpipes at sundown with the goal of lifting community spirits. Friday evening will be his last performance as the community enters the next phase, according to a city news release. Mayor Steve Morley has proclaimed Friday as Brian Costello Day to thank Brian for his efforts in bringing the community together.
The band will go through City Centre 6 to 7 p.m. and Spring Road 8:15 to 8:30 p.m.
