Battery, Suspicious People: Elmhurst Police
Man is accused of throwing a bottle at a woman, report says.
ELMHURST, IL — The Elmhurst Police Department on Thursday released its latest police blotter, which includes reports about battery, suspicious people, a burglary and theft. Here is information from the reports:
Battery
- Christopher Ciavirelli, 51, of Chicago, was arrested about 2:30 p.m. June 24 in the 500 block of West St. Charles Street on a charge of battery. He was released on bond. According to a police report, the victim said Ciavirelli threw a bottle at her. He left before officers arrived, but was later found.
Suspicious people

- A resident in the 100 block of North Myrtle informed police that about 7:30 p.m. June 24, two people were pulling on his front door. A witness reported seeing the same people at the front door of a neighboring house. An officer found the men, who said they were going door to door advertising maintenance work. One of them said they pulled on the handle of an exterior door to knock on an interior door.
- When responding to a fireworks complaint, an officer encountered two youths about 2 a.m. June 23 near Oakland Grove and Elm Park. The first youth was cited on charges of curfew violation and possession of a nicotine device by a minor. The second was cited on a curfew violation. Both were released to family members.
Theft
- An officer saw two gray 2020 Mazda3 vehicles up on jacks and missing rear tires and rims about 11:30 p.m. June 22 at Wilkins Hyundai, 750 N. York St. An unlocked Hyundai Kona was missing its jack from inside the trunk.
- A vehicle was burglarized about 2:30 a.m. June 23 at The Auto Plug, 334 W. Grand Ave. A person told police a vehicle and a suspect were seen entering the business lot. The suspect was seen taking a pressure washer and bicycle, then leaving the area in a silver Jeep.

- Jasmine C. Taylor, 27, of Monee, was cited about 5 p.m. June 23 at Butterfield and Cambridge on charges of driving with a suspended license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, expired registration and disobeying a traffic control device. She was released on bond.
- Paul Fullerton, 34, of Elmhurst, was arrested about 2 a.m. June 24 at Third and Evergreen on charges of DUI, possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle and violating a raised center median. He was released on bond.
Other
- A resident turned in a Taurus revolver for destruction June 22. The owner was moving and did not wish to take it with him, asking for it to be destroyed. The revolver was placed into evidence for destruction.
- An employee of a business in the 700 block of North Church Road informed police June 21 that a former colleague had been sending harassing messages. The employee did not want to have any contact with the suspect. Police spoke with the suspect and advised him to cease all communication with his former colleague.
- Someone threw a glass bottle about 11 p.m. June 22 at a house in the 200 block of Winthrop Avenue. An officer saw the shattered glass bottle near the front door of the house. There was no damage. No suspect could be found.
