Bethel United Church of Christ Confirmation Class Hosts Santa Party for Children of Easter Seals

On December 6th the Confirmation Class of Bethel United Church of Christ in Elmhurst helped children of Easter Seals celebrate Christmas with a party and a visit with Santa Claus at Yorktown Mall, which opened its doors early that Sunday morning so that children with special needs could meet Santa in person. Fourteen members of the Bethel UCC Confirmation Class along with adult volunteers hosted the Santa Party for approximately 150 children and their families.

Children had a private visit and a photo taken with Santa as a special remembrance of the party. The Bethel volunteer elves treated the children to snacks and juice and each child received a Beanie Baby as a gift. The volunteers also provided entertainment with music, activities and a story time. The snacks were donated by members of Bethel UCC and the Beanie Babies were donated by Bethel UCC and Christ United Methodist Church of Elmhurst. A good time was had by all the children from Easter Seals as well as the special elves from Bethel.
