Bizarre Comments, Roof Fraud: Elmhurst Cops
A man making bizarre comments at an Elmhurst salon prompted a call to police, according to a report.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving a man making bizarre comments, roof fraud, pushing, a YouTube scam, a gun found at a house, retail theft and a dispute. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Bizarre comments
- Shortly before noon Monday, a man visited Hair Looms, 506 S. Spring Road, asking for a haircut while making bizarre comments. The salon wanted police to serve the man with a no-trespass notice.

- A resident in the 500 block of West Gladys Avenue gave a person money to install a new roof on Sept. 26. The suspect has not completed any of the work. The report was filed Tuesday.
Pushing
- An argument was reported about 6 a.m. Monday at CVS Pharmacy, 110 W. North Ave. One person pushed another. An investigation is pending.
YouTube scam

- A resident in the 600 block of South Fairview Avenue told police Monday that someone called claiming to be with YouTube tech support. The imposter sought payment from the resident, who did so with gift cards.
Gun found
- A woman on Wednesday told police that she found a gun at her deceased parent's house in the 400 block of North Ridgeland Avenue. She requested that it be destroyed.
Retail theft
- A person stole several bottles of alcohol about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday at CVS Pharmacy, 110 W. North Ave. The suspect left in a gold-tinted sedan. An investigation is pending.
Converter theft
- Someone stole a catalytic converter from a vehicle about 3 a.m. Tuesday at Enterprise Leasing, 896 York St. An investigation is pending.
Dispute
- Police responded to a dispute about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Elmhurst Hospital, 155 E. Brush Hill Road. A person threatened the staff and was told to leave. Upon the hospital's request, the police issued a no-trespass notice to the person.
