Bonuses Given to Elmhurst D205 Officials
The district kept secret the record detailing the reasons for the bonuses.

ELMHURST, IL – The Elmhurst School District 205 board approved "performance incentive" bonuses for six top officials last week.
The district, though, did not make the bonus amounts available to the public in its online meeting information.
Patch obtained the numbers through a public records request. It also sought information on which the bonuses were based, but the district declined to provide the relevant document.

The district said the record was "pre-decisional," citing an exception to the state's open records law.
"The document is an internal communication conveying opinions to assist in formulating District decisions," the district said.
