Burglar Lured Elderly Man to Backyard While Accomplice Robbed House

Police are investigating a burglary in Villa Park in which an elderly man was drawn outside while items were stolen from his home.

The burglary took place around noon June 27 near Terry Lane and Summit Avenue in Villa Park, according to Villa Park police.

A man knocked on the door of the home and told the elderly resident he should have a fence installed in his backyard. The man lured the elderly resident to the backyard while another person went in the house and took personal items.
