Businessman Busted for Selling Fake Blackhawks Merch
Jeff Huang, 61, has been charged with five felony counts of unauthorized use of a trademark.
A man was arrested Tuesday after investigators found more than 130,000 lampshade pieces that featured counterfeit team logos, including the Chicago Blackhawks logo, at his Elk Grove business.
Jeff Huang, age 61 of Mount Prospect, has been charged with five felony counts of unauthorized use of a trademark, according to the Cook County Sheriff’s Office.
The investigation began after the National Hockey League contacted Homeland Security about the business selling unauthorized merchandise.

Special agents with Homeland Security and the Sheriff’s Police Special Operations searched Max International Trading Corp., located in the 1500 block of South Elmhurst Road, where they found the load of glass inserts for lampshades depicting unlicensed logos.
The merchandise was decorated with counterfeit logos from the National Hockey League, Major League Baseball, National Basketball Association, National Football League and the Collegiate Licensing Company, the sheriff’s office reported.

Several thousand glass inserts had fake Chicago Blackhawks logos on them.
Huang was ordered on electronic monitoring during his hearing Wednesday at the Rolling Meadows Courthouse.
