
Summer Music at Bethel will present its final concert of the season on Friday, August 7 at 7 pm featuring cellist Kevin Hernandez and pianist Jeffrey Panko in a program showcasing sonatas by Claude Debussy and Sergei Rachmaninoff. Currently pursuing a double degree in Cello Performance and Psychology at Oberlin College where he studies with renowned cellist Darrett Adkins, Hernandez has participated in the Sphinx Performance Academy at The Juilliard School, the Bowdoin International Music Festival and has recently returned from advanced studies at the Orford Musique Academy in Québec, Canada. A prize winner in many solo and collaborative competitions, Hernandez was recently featured in a solo broadcast on WFMT Radio Chicago. In addition to his performance career, Hernandez has begun conducting research in music cognition, exploring the relationships among music, psychology, and human development.
