ELMHURST, IL — If you are looking to learn about candidates running in local elections, then you can visit an upcoming candidate forum in Elmhurst. The League of Women Voters of Elmhurst will host a Candidate Forum on Sunday, Jan. 21 from 1 to 5:30 p.m. at the Elmhurst City Hall, 209 N. York St., Elmhurst.

Candidates for the March 20 General Primary have been invited to the event if their race is contested, according to the league. The candidates will speak about their qualifications and vision for their respective positions. After answering some questions from the League, the candidates will be asked to answer questions submitted in writing from those who are in attendance.

This program is open to the public and all are encouraged to attend the whole event or individual parts. An estimate of each group’s time frame is:

  • Fifth Congressional District - Democratic: 1 – 2 p.m.
  • DuPage County Sheriff - Republican: 2:15 – 3 p.m.
  • 47Th District State House: 3:15 – 4 p.m.
  • DuPage County Board District 1 (Republican) and District 2 (Democratic): 4:15 – 5:30 p.m.
