Car Stolen In North Elmhurst; Police Warn Residents
The suspects departed from the more common method of stealing cars.

ELMHURST, IL – A car was reported stolen overnight Wednesday in north Elmhurst, with the suspects departing from the more common method of such thefts.
According to police, a 2019 Kia sedan was stolen from the York Meadows Condominiums parking lot in the 800 block of North York Street.
The thieves broke a window to gain access and damaged the steering column's ignition to drive it away, police said. It was recovered hours later.

- Ensuring all car doors are locked
- Removing all key fobs from cars
- Activating car alarms and security GPS tracking
- Using a steering wheel lock or similar theft prevention device
- Calling 911 immediately when spotting suspicious people overnight
