Chicago a cappella welcomes new board member

David G. Thompson joins leadership team for acclaimed classical vocal ensemble.

Chicago, IL The acclaimed vocal ensemble Chicago a cappella elected Elmhurst resident David G. Thompson to its Board of Directors on August 22, 2015. Thompson joins 13 other dedicated and well-qualified Chicago a cappella Board Members as the ensemble’s 23rd season approaches.

Thompson is a Principal, Client Insights, at Information Resources, Inc. (IRI) in Chicago, where he builds partnerships with key clients and manages a team of consultants/analysts. Representing Tyson Foods, he supports eight brand portfolios spanning 11 categories with collective retail sales of well over $3 billion. His prior volunteer work includes involvement with the Chicago Cares work-a-thon, IRI’s charity auction, and the ConAgra annual United Way campaign, as well as serving as an elementary/middle school math tutor. Thompson received his MBA from the University Of Chicago Graduate School Of Business, after receiving a bachelor’s degree in economics from California State University. A bass guitar player, he also performs in two rock ‘n’ roll bands.

Chicago a cappella is one of the area’s most accomplished and innovative vocal ensembles. Spanning a repertoire from Gregorian chant to the Beatles and beyond, the group is preparing to launch its 23rd season under founding Artistic Director Jonathan Miller. This season’s concerts, prepared by Music Director John William Trotter and renowned guest music directors, will be presented at ten venues in the Chicago area. Chicago a cappella regularly performs in Oak Park/River Forest, Naperville, Evanston, and Chicago’s Hyde Park neighborhood. The group’s season opens on October 10 in Naperville.
