Children with Hearing Loss Celebrate the Season with Performance

Winter Festival held at Child's Voice in Wood Dale

Three little kittens lost their mittens at Child’s Voice! But not to worry, they found them!

On Friday, December 21st, Child’s Voice students shared the annual Winter Festival Program with parents, extended family members, and friends. All students participate, sing, dance, and perform. This year’s performance was inspired by the “Three Little Kittens” nursery rhyme.

“This is a wonderful day at Child’s Voice,” shared Dr. Michele Wilkins, Executive Director. “It’s inspiring to see these children sing and perform. It’s particularly special since all our students have a hearing loss, but they sing, speak, and celebrate in front of their parents and friends. And honestly, the students are just too adorable!”

Child's Voice, based in Wood Dale and Chicago, helps children with hearing loss learn to listen and speak from across the Chicago region. Students wear hearing aids and/or cochlear implants and programs use a child-focused, research-based curriculum, all with the end goal of transitioning graduates back to their neighborhood schools. Students range in age from just a few days old through the age of 8.
