Child's Voice Golf Tournament Raises Over $90,000 for Students

On Tuesday, June 12, over 200 golfers, sponsors, supporters, and volunteers gathered for the annual Child’s Voice Golf Tournament. This year, held at Cantigny Park in Wheaton, the Tournament raised over $90,000 for the programs and services at Child’s Voice.

“A spectacular day that results in incredible support for our students,” shared Dr. Michele Wilkins (Naperville), Executive Director of Child’s Voice. “We are so grateful to all the golfers, sponsors, volunteers, and everyone that comes out and gives of their time and support to today’s Tournament. We love to share the incredible students and alumni that have benefited from our programs, and the Tournament offers that chance to see our graduates selling lemonade, or driving a golf ball, or sharing their story. Thank you to all that made it a success!”

Child’s Voice helps children with hearing loss learn to listen and to speak. Students wear hearing aids and/or cochlear implants and programs use a child-focused, research-based curriculum, all with the end goal of transitioning graduates back to their neighborhood schools. Child’s Voice serves over 300 children and their families each year and has two locations in Wood Dale and the Roscoe Village neighborhood in Chicago.

“It was incredible to see all the students and alumni at the event,” Paul Fahey (Wheaton) said. “As a parent of a graduate, I see firsthand the results that Child’s Voice produces and to see the kids at the lemonade stand and throughout the Tournament was a great way to remind everyone why we’re playing.”

Over a dozen current students and the newly formed Alumni Association members and Board attended the event as volunteers.
