ELMHURST, IL — It's almost time to gather the family and enjoy some days of presents and good food. While some people — including employees at some retail stores, as well as emergency responders — will be working on the holiday, many area businesses and offices will be closed, giving workers a day off.
Here's list of what's open and what's closed in Elmhurst for Christmas 2018.
- Post office: Closed
- Federal offices: Closed
- City of Elmhurst: Closing at 12 p.m. Dec. 24 and closed all day Dec. 25.
- Emhurst Park District
- Park District Administrative Office: Closed Dec. 24 and 25
- Wagner Community Center: Closed Dec. 24 and 25
- The Abbey: Closed Dec. 24 and 25
- Courts Plus: Closing at 3 p.m. Dec. 24 and closed Dec. 2
- District 205: School resumes Jan. 7.
- Elmhurst Library: Closed Dec. 24 and 25.
- Banks: Closed
- Gas stations: Open
- Retail stores: Some will be closed, some — including a few area grocery stores — will be open, but check the hours before you go.
