ELMHURST, IL — In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving a chronic nuisance, a wallet mystery, a tire theft, trespassing, identity theft and driving violations. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Chronic nuisance

  • Police issued a chronic nuisance warning Tuesday to a house in the 400 block of West St. Charles Road.

  • A York High School student told police that his Apple Wallet was stolen from the school and tracked into Bensenville Wednesday. The student later reported that his bus driver returned it because it was left on the bus.

Tire theft

  • A man entered the open service shop at Al Piemonte GMC Buick, 364 W. Grand Ave., and loaded four new tires with rims into his black Toyota Sienna minivan about 3 p.m. Saturday. He was described as black, 35 to 50 years old, having an average build, and wearing a winter stocking cap, heavy dark coat, dark pants and dark shoes.

  • David Bonner, 49, of Elmhurst, was arrested shortly before midnight Wednesday in the 400 block of West St. Charles on a warrant charging criminal trespass to a motor vehicle. He was released on bond. According to a police report, a woman said her son, Bonner, took her car without permission in August. He had been allowed to stay at the house for a couple of days.

Stolen wallet

  • A resident in the 100 block of South Hawthorne Avenue told police Monday that she was unable to find her wallet after returning home from shopping Nov. 1. A few days later, her wallet was found on the road and returned to her. Upon receiving her wallet, she discovered she was missing two credit cards and received notification of fraudulent activities on those cards.

Identity theft

  • A resident in the 100 block of North Richard Avenue told police Tuesday that he was notified by a financial institution about an outstanding business loan from July. The resident said the suspect forged her signature to obtain a loan from the lender. The case is pending an investigation.
  • A resident in the 400 block of East Park told police Wednesday that someone attempted to open an account using the resident's personal information. The fraudulent activity started Christmas Day.

Open alcohol

  • Mariusz Czyz, 30, of Morton Grove, was arrested about 12:30 a.m. Monday in the 100 block of North York Street on a warrant and a charge of possession of open alcohol in public. Czyz was released to the Skokie Police Department.

Driving violations

  • Josue Brenes, 42, of Addison, was arrested about 9 p.m. Monday at North and Villa on an Elgin Police Department warrant and charges of no valid driver's license and driving without a license plate light. He was released on bond.
  • Orlando Banos-Cruz, 21, of Carol Stream, was cited about 4 a.m. Tuesday at Route 83 and Second on charges of no valid driver's license and improper window tinting. He was released on bond.
  • Rubelio Garcia-Pascual, 22, of Bensenville, was cited about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday at Grand and York on charges of driving with a suspended license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and no license plate lights. He was released on bond.
  • Alberto Contreras Matos, 58, of Chicago, was cited about 1 a.m. Wednesday at North and Highview on charges of no valid driver's license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and improper lighting. He was released on bond.
  • Willie Kimble, 70, of Chicago, was cited at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Butterfield and York on charges of no valid driver's license and improper turn. He was released on bond.
  • Leonidov Leonid, 48, of Elmhurst, was cited about 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Route 83 and Armitage on a charge of no valid driver's license.
  • Julia McFadden, 25, of Glenwood, was cited about 10 p.m. Wednesday at North and Clinton on charges of driving with a suspended license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and illegal transportation of open alcohol by a driver. She was released on bond.
