Abril and Sabrina Stoddard say the competition will help them develop confidence and composure.

Elmhurst residents Sabrina Stoddard, 13, and her sister Abril, 11, were selected to participate in the 2012 Miss Junior Teen Chicago pageant on Sunday, June 3.
Abril and Sabrina submitted an application and took part in an interview session that was conducted by a Chicago pageant coordinator.
They will be competing for a share of thousands of dollars in prizes and gifts. Miss Jr. Teen is one of four divisions that will have young ladies ages 7 to 19 competing in modeling routines, which will include casual wear and formal wear events but no swimsuit competition.
Most important, the girls will display their personalities and interviewing skills while interviewing with a panel of judges. Personality is the number one thing each contestant is judged on during all phases of competition.
