ComEd has reported total restoration of power throughout Elmhurst. At the height of the storm, approximately 1,700 Elmhurst customers were without power. If you are currently experiencing a power-outage please report it by calling ComEd (800)334-7661.
If a live power line is down please call 9-1-1 and do not approach the line.
Though the majority of flooding has subsided and waters are receding, standing water still remains in the following areas at this time:
- • Palmer Drive Underpass
- • Northbound IL Route 83 (Southbound is open to traffic)
- • North Avenue at I-290
- • Portions of Spring Road
- • Numerous side streets
We ask that residents limit travel at this time. Dangerous conditions still exist; manhole covers may have come loose or be off entirely due to strong surges of water. Any travel through standing water can impact homes and business, as well as safety and clean-up efforts. If you have to travel, drive slowly and avoid standing water. Please stay in your homes even after the water drains to allow crews to clean-up the streets. Call 9-1-1 if you are experiencing an emergency. For non-emergency calls please contact the Police Department Front Desk at (630) 530-3050.
