Conroy Hosts Local Students in State Capitol
Conroy hosts local students for page for a day.

Local students Timothy Ryan Hurley of Lombard and Grace Que of Elmhurst recently accompanied state Rep. Deb Conroy, D-Villa Park, on the floor of the Illinois House of Representatives.
“Hands-on experience is the best way to learn about the legislative process,” Conroy said. “I hope Timothy and Grace enjoyed themselves and learned a lot, and I invite any other students who are planning on visiting Springfield to reach out to my office.”
Hurley, currently a student at the College of DuPage and Que, currently a student at York Community High School, served as Conroy’s legislative pages for the day. They were allowed onto the House floor where they were able to meet with legislators from across the state and observe the legislative debate. Hurley also works as an intern in Conroy’s constituent service office in Villa Park.

“As a political science student I really enjoy all my classes, but the experiences I gained while in Springfield could not be learned from a book,” Hurley said. “After spending time in Rep. Conroy’s district office and on the House floor I am very excited to get back to school and continue learning about government and politics.”
