Conroy Invites Residents to Clean Energy Town Hall

Conroy announces Clean Energy Town Hall with the Illinois Clean Jobs Coalition on Sept. 17th at 6 p.m. at the Glenside Library

To offer her constituents an opportunity to discuss the importance of creating clean energy jobs, state Rep. Deb Conroy, D-Villa Park, is hosting a Clean Energy Town Hall Meeting with state Sen. Tom Cullerton, D-Villa Park, and the Illinois Clean Jobs Coalition on Thursday, September 17 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Glenside Public Library, located at 25 E. Fullerton Ave. in Glendale Heights.

“With the state’s financial crisis, one of the most important conversations that we have is how to create and maintain jobs in Illinois,” said Conroy. “With clean energy, we have a unique opportunity to create good-paying jobs while giving Illinois workers the opportunity to develop lasting careers in an industry of the future.”

Conroy’s Clean Energy Town Hall will include a presentation by the Illinois Clean Jobs Coalition about efforts in Illinois to create environmentally friendly jobs. There will also be an open discussion with Conroy, Cullerton and other environmental leaders. This event is free and open to all residents of the 46th District.

“Investing in green technology can help us encourage more companies and highly skilled workers to move to and invest in Illinois,” Conroy added. “Clean energy must be a part of the larger conversation about job creation in our state. I encourage anyone who is interested to come on out and participate in this important conversation.”
