Coronavirus Death Rate Up At Elmhurst Hospital

ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst Hospital is seeing more deaths lately of patients with confirmed cases of the coronavirus, according to its latest report Wednesday.

The hospital reported seven such deaths in the last week. That brings its pandemic total to 337, up from 320 on Nov. 30.

Overall, the monthly average of coronavirus deaths at the hospital since March 2020 stands at 10. That number slowly dropped in 2022. In August, it was 10.7.

Meanwhile, the number of coronavirus patients is not unusual – 23 as of Wednesday. Since August, the number has ranged from nine to 28, according to its reports.

Elmhurst Hospital serves an area far larger than Elmhurst.
