Cougars 12U Baseball 2nd at IL Charger Challenge

In a rain shortened tournament the Cougars achieved second place in a field of 16 travel teams.

The Cougars 12U Baseball Club took second place in the Illinois Charger Challenge over the weekend of April 24th – 26th. The tournament pool consisted of 16 teams and the games were played at Centennial Park in Oak Lawn. The Cougars opened pool play on Friday night with a 9 to 1 win over the host Illinois Chargers team; this was followed by a day of unexpected rest due to rain. Sunday’s return to action had the Cougars complete pool play with a win against the Manhattan Badgers by a score of 6-3. Tournament bracket play on Sunday was cut to the top four teams. The Cougars were seeded second and fell to the Minooka Rivercats in the championship game.

Formed in 1992 the Cougar Baseball and Softball club has gone on to become one of the most progressive and respected volunteer youth sports brands in the Chicago metro area. In addition to their solid track of promoting their players to the high school ranks, the Cougars provide their teams a high volume of access to quality ballfields and batting cages with excellent coaching.
