Coupon-Seeking Man Threatens to Kill Smiling Cashier

Elmhurst police are searching for a man who threatened to kill a Kohl’s cashier who smiled at him.

The cashier told police she rang up a customer at May 21 who asked if she had any coupons he could use. She smiled and replied, “No.”

After the man paid, the cashier thanked him and told him to have a good night. The man responded, “If you ever [expletive] smile at me again, I’ll kill you,” police reported. He then left the store.

Police say complaints will be signed and a trespass notice served if the man is located.
