"Dancing With the Starz" Event to be Held in May

DuPage Senior Citizens Council's (DSCC) "Dancing With the Starz" Benefit Gala supports vital services DSCC provides to seniors.

The DuPage Senior Citizens Council (DSCC) will hold its annual Dancing with the Starz Gala fundraising event on Saturday, May 13, 2017. Dancing with the Starz is the premier celebrity dancing competition and event in DuPage County. All funds raised from the event will support the vital services DSCC provides to isolated/homebound elderly in DuPage County, including “Meals on Wheels,” Well- Being Checks, home and yard assistance, and more.

Dancing with the Starz is an elegant evening featuring local celebrity dancers paired with professionals from the Fred Astaire Dance Studio. To date, we have Lucia Maffei of Grant Park Packing, Ben Reina of Turano Baking Company, Edward Gatson of DSCC, Tim Cicero of the Carol Stream Fire Department, Raquel Becerra of the Village of Glendale Heights, Sean Chaundry of Hinsdale Wine Shop, Raza Siddiqui of NBC Chicago and Mark Carman of WGN Radio 720. “Beside the cocktail reception and dinner, we have a fabulous Live Auction, followed by a professional dance performance and this year’s competition,” said Event Chair Lisa Turano, Turano Baking Company. Attendees will also have the chance to vote for their favorite celebrity dancer, and the evening will end with dancing for all.

“Dancing with the Starz is one of the best events in DuPage County,” commented DSCC Executive Director Marylin Krolak. “This year’s event is dedicated to one of our volunteers, Mike Adamle.” “Mike was one of our original celebrity dancers and is coming back as one of the Judges of this year’s Dancing with the Starz Gala.”
