Disorderly Conduct, Fight: Elmhurst Cops

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving disorderly conduct, a fight, a break-in at a secured parking lot, the theft of gas and a found wallet, among other things. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Disorderly conduct

  • A resident in the 400 block of North Highview Avenue told police that people banged on his windows about 8 p.m. Monday, which was Halloween. The resident reviewed doorbell footage, which shows two youths banging on the windows before running away. The resident wished to sign a complaint if the youths were found.

Fight

  • Two residents got into a fight about 4 p.m. Monday at the Grove of Elmhurst nursing home, 127 W. Diversey Ave. The people were separated before an officer arrived. No one was injured. One of the people was taken to a hospital for a psychological examination.

Break-in of secured lot

  • Someone forced entry into a secured storage lot between 4 p.m. Saturday and 5 a.m. Monday at TransChicago Truck Group, 776 N. York St. The person removed numerous tires from parked semi-tractors. An investigation is pending.

Wallet found

  • A man found a wallet about 7:30 a.m. Tuesday along the roadway in the 100 block of East Columbia Avenue. An officer placed the wallet into evidence for safekeeping.

Gas theft

  • Superior Ambulance, 395 W. Lake St., told police Tuesday that someone used the company's fuel card without authorization for personal cars in February. An investigation is pending.

Graffiti

  • Graffiti was found on the dugout bench Monday at Bryan Middle School, 111 W. Butterfield Road. The maintenance department removed it.

Fugitive driver

  • About 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, an officer tried to stop a car that was stolen in Park Forest. The driver sped away, last seen heading east on Interstate 290 from St. Charles Road.

Identity theft

  • A resident in the 200 block of North Highview Avenue told police Monday that someone tried to transfer her bank account balance Sept. 14. The resident stopped the transfer and froze her accounts.
