More Details On Elmhurst Bank Robbery

Police are seeking two suspects in the downtown robbery.

ELMHURST, IL – Two men entered Elmhurst-Wintrust Bank, 115 W. Third St., on Monday afternoon and robbed it, police said.

About 4:40 p.m., one suspect presented a note to a teller demanding cash, while the other suspect acted as a lookout, according to an Elmhurst police news release.

The suspect with the note implied he had a weapon, but did not display one, police said.

After getting an undisclosed amount of cash, the men left on foot, heading west toward Addison Avenue, the release said.

Police said officers found evidence that indicated the men ran to a nearby alley south of Third, between Addison and Larch avenues. They may have left the alley in a car, police said.

The first suspect was described as 20 to 30 years old, 6 feet tall, having a medium build, and wearing a blue Nike hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and black gloves.

The second suspect was said to be 20 to 40 years old, 6 feet tall, having a heavy build, and wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, surgical mask and black pants.

The robbery is being investigated by Elmhurst police and the FBI. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Elmhurst police at 630-530-3050.
