A woman was pushed to the ground by a man who claimed she owed him, police say.
ELMHURST, IL — An Elmhurst woman was pushed to the ground at her house by a man who claimed she owed him $400 for drugs, police said. She told officers that she hadn't bought drugs in a year.
The incident happened about 6 a.m. Sept. 12 on May Street. Patch obtained the full police report.
In an interview, the 28-year-old woman said the man was her former drug dealer and that he was texting her all night and into the morning that she owed him money, but would never say the amount. The 39-year-old man warned that he was coming to get the cash, the report said.

When he arrived, the woman and her boyfriend went outside. The man grabbed her and threw her to the ground, according to the report. She told police that she owed the man $30 for an Uber ride from two days before. She called the man at the time, and he alerted Uber.
She told police the man had been her dealer for crack and heroin for five years, but she has since gone to rehab, police said. An officer noticed she had a cut on the palm of her left hand, and it was bleeding, police said.

The woman's boyfriend largely confirmed her story. He said her head hit the ground when she was pushed. The suspect said the woman owed him $400 and then went inside the open garage and pushed tables, police said. The man said, "If you don't pay, I'm gonna come back and shoot up this place. I don't play games," the report said. The man got in his car and left.
The boyfriend said the man later called and told him, "It's me, bro ... You called the police, and that's a bad idea," according to the report.
An officer advised the woman and her boyfriend to block the man's number.
She wanted to press battery charges against the man. The officer's report indicated the police would pursue a warrant.
