ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving fighting, domestic battery, a disorderly person near a church, fraud and aggravated DUI. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Fighting while drunk

  • A 22-year-old Chicago woman was arrested about 3 a.m. Saturday on four counts of battery and one count of criminal property damage. Police said they responded to a call about the drunk woman in the 100 block of Fellows Court. She was fighting someone and damaging another person's car, police said. The suspect was released.

Pushing and scratching

  • A 38-year-old River Grove woman was arrested about 7 p.m. Saturday on two domestic battery counts. Police said the woman pushed and scratched another person in the 300 block of Shady Lane. The woman was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Disorderly near church

  • Someone was being disorderly about 11 a.m. Friday on the sidewalk near Epiphany Evangelical Lutheran Church, 314 W. Vallette St. A person wanted the incident documented.

Fleeing, but caught

  • A 22-year-old Plainfield man was arrested shortly after midnight Sunday on charges of fleeing an officer, no valid driver's license and window tinting. An officer tried to stop the man, but he fled on eastbound Interstate 290 at St. Charles Road. The man was later found. He was released.

Fraud

  • A resident in the 800 block of South Hillcrest Avenue told police Friday about receiving a text claiming to be a bank requesting his personal information. He provided it. Afterward, he discovered unauthorized transactions in his name.

Aggravated DUI

  • Marthin Rangel, 30, of Berkeley, was arrested about 6 p.m. Thursday at Butterfield Road and Commonwealth Drive on charges of aggravated DUI, driving an uninsured car, possession of open alcohol and illegal stopping. Police approached Rangel when they saw his car was broken down. He was also wanted on a Kendall County warrant. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
