An Easy-To-Solve Elmhurst Bomb Threat

Police said they found their way to the suspect who threatened a local business.

ELMHURST, IL — Elmhurst police apparently had little trouble over the weekend in solving the case of a phoned-in bomb threat to a local business.

The suspect left a big clue — a phone number.

About 6:30 p.m., Sky Zone, 325 W. Lake St., received a voicemail in which the caller threatened to bomb and torch the building, police said. The call was reported Sunday.

Using information from caller ID, the officer was able to contact the youth suspect by telephone.

The suspect admitted to placing the phone call and leaving the bomb threat as a joke, police said. The youth claimed not to be serious about bombing the building.
