In response to a Patch inquiry, Stout referred questions to a district spokeswoman.

"I do regret that I am unable to respond personally," Stout said in a message.

The spokeswoman, Dani Brink, said in a statement, "As this is an ongoing situation, it would be premature to say what next steps will transpire. At this time, we are waiting for the process to take place."

Stout took office in 2021.
