Elmhurst 88-Year-Old Charged With DUI: Cops
He was slumped behind the wheel after officers got a report of a reckless driver, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police arrested people on charges of DUI, domestic battery and trespassing. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
DUI
- An 88-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 600 block of West Lorraine Avenue was arrested about 9:30 p.m. Friday at Lake Street and West Avenue on charges of DUI, no valid driver's license, driving an uninsured car and improper lane usage. Officers responded after receiving a report of a reckless driver. The 88-year-old was found slumped behind the wheel. He was taken to the police station and released.
- A 33-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 12:30 p.m. Friday at York Street and Grand Avenue on charges of DUI, unlawful possession of marijuana by a driver, speeding, driving an uninsured car and wearing no seatbelt. He was taken to the police station and then released.
- A 22-year-old was arrested about 4 a.m. Sunday at Lake Street and Interstate 290 on charges of DUI, improper lane usage, possession of open alcohol and driving an uninsured motor vehicle. He was taken to the police station and released.

- A 28-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 300 block of West Avenue was arrested on a domestic battery charge. A woman reported the man battered her about 2 p.m. Sept. 8 at Whole Foods, 215 S. Route 83. He was not arrested at first because of conflicting statements and a lack of evidence. After further investigation, a warrant was issued for his arrest. Police stopped him Thursday. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Trespassing
- A 21-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 100 block of Avon Road was arrested about 7:30 a.m. Saturday at First Street and Poplar Avenue on charges of trespassing on railroad property and resisting officers. When officers saw the man, he ran away. He was released.
