Elmhurst Boy Wins First Place at 2015 Tulsa Nationals Wrestling Tournament
Joey Favia, of Elmhurst, won the championship, first place, in the Division 1 (6 and Under) , 61-79 Light Heavyweight pound category.

Joseph “Joey” Favia, age 6, placed first at the 2015 Flo Tulsa Nationals, a championship wrestling tournament in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Joey won the championship, first place, in the Division 1 (6 and Under) , 61-79 Light Heavyweight pound category. He brought home a huge eagle trophy. Tulsa Nationals is known as the toughest tournament in the country.

Joey wrestles for Gomez Academy and he and his family live in Elmhurst. Joey attends first grade at Emerson Elementary School.
Tulsa Nationals is the oldest, most prestigious junior wrestling event in the world, according to the competition website. Sixty years of tradition unfolded again, as about 40 states represented by more than 6,000 wrestlers from 4 to 16 years old competed for a national title.
