Elmhurst Buys 2nd House In Neighborhood
The owner is set to see a $175,000 gain, records indicate.

ELMHURST, IL – The Elmhurst City Council voted Monday to buy a second house on Eggleston Avenue behind the Spring Road business district.
The property owner, who bought the house five months ago, is set to see a gain of $175,000.
The city is purchasing the house at 322 W. Eggleston for $530,000. City Manager Jim Grabowski said the city needed the property for parking and stormwater control.

A month ago, the city bought the next-door house at 316 W. Eggleston for $375,000. At the time, the city did not give a reason for the purchase.
The purchase price for 322 W. Eggleston was considerably more than its tax-assessed value and recent purchase price.

The house is assessed at $363,000. It sold for $355,000 in November, according to the deed on file with DuPage County.
The owner is KLJMM LLC. According to state records, the firm's registered agent is Richard C. Bogdanowicz, who lives in the 100 block of Chandler Avenue in Elmhurst. Online records indicate Bogdanowicz is in the business of buying and selling properties.
The house at 316 W. Eggleston is assessed at $358,950, according to DuPage County records.
Bogdanowicz couldn't be reached for comment.
